This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a 7th and 8th-grade middle school social studies teacher at an inner-city school that facilitates K-8th grade. My 7th and 8th-grade students are pleasant, funny, and full of potential.
Despite the socioeconomic, and demographic challenges they face, they come to school every day ready to learn.
Working with this group of scholars confirms daily my desire to be in the classroom. Each day they show up motivated and ready to work. I strive to build meaningful relationships with all of my scholars as I believe this helps in their education.
My Project
These Amazon gift cards will be used for incentives to reward scholars who demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and works well with their peers.
My scholars are appreciative for anything they receive.
I feel this incentive will give them the excitement of being able to choose their own items to purchase. It has been proven at our school that when our students are presented with an incentive, they put forth their best effort. In turn, this effort will continue each month throughout the school year with a recipient each month.
