Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have twenty-two active and curious 4 and 5-year-old students. These students are English Language Learners in a Title I school where more than 95% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My PreK students are happy and excited to be in school.
Even though my students have challenges, I focus on each child's potential. I want to help my students develop and grow as much as possible during the time they are in my class. It is important for me to get them the resources they need to be the best learners they can be. I know that with a little support, my students will thrive.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of a kitchen remodel. Our old kitchen is looking worn, and it is time to update. The 4-piece kitchen we are requesting gives us the versatility to place the kitchen anywhere in the classroom. A new kitchen set will make the dramatic play center more attractive and functional for the students.
No preschool classroom is complete without a dramatic play center that includes a homey kitchen.
It is a familiar place that encourages conversation and imagination. Students take on many different roles and use their creativity to invent scenarios as they play. When children play in the kitchen, they are learning the language, social skills, math, and literacy skills.
Please help us get a new kitchen that will provide many years of fun and learning in our PreK classroom.
