Ms. Awe from Milwaukee WI is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need access to paper within the classroom in order to complete hands-on, independent and whole group work in the classroom despite our world being consumed by the use of technology.

I am a teacher in a low income/high poverty school. My students are faced with challenges and experiences that no one should ever have to go through in their lifetime. School is a place where my students come every day to feel safe and grow educationally and developmentally.
My students love doing independent work at their tables during reading and math stations as well as in a whole group setting on carpet with clipboards.
They take such great ownership of their work that they do in the classroom. After completing each assignment, each scholar puts their work in their mailbox to take home with them. Each student also gets a homework packet that they need to complete by Friday.
Due to district budget cuts, teachers will not be supplied with paper next school year. Without paper, my students will not be able to complete these independent activities. My students also will not get their weekly homework packets. The absence of having paper to use in our classroom to make these essential activities readily available.
As students, teachers, and schools around the world face challenges daily, school budgets and supplies continue to be a challenge. We are facing a significant shortage in supplies for next school year, and this sadly includes things as simple as copy paper.
The paper listed in this project will allow me to always be able to create differentiated instructional work and activities for my young learners.
The white paper will serve as use for homework, station work, and whole group work. The colored paper will serve as an easy way to identify different categories for learning groups and subjects. The card stock will be used to print hands-on activities that the students can use in stations such as a matching game or letter sort.
