Our school is a small yet diverse Title I school in the East side of Tacoma. My students walk into my classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for the day. Despite home life situations my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be at school learning and being successful every day.
My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 96% receiving free breakfast and lunch everyday.
My students are creative, caring, and clever. They are learning to be friends, share, and build life long learning skills to better them as they continue their education.
My Project
Every month my students complete homework Monday- Thursday. Having fun incentives to entice them to do their homework at home will help improve their academics. At the end of the month if they have done every homework page for the month they earn a prize. My prize stash is getting low, and the options to choose from are getting picked through.
A lot of my students do their homework on their own without parent support, so rewarding them for a good work ethic of finishing their homework will give them motivation to successfully complete their work.
The party favor trinkets will give the students many options to choose from including fun glasses, rings, and animal figures. The slap bracelets will be a hit by the girls, and the boys will love the fidget spinners. Students will love the stampers, stencils, coloring books, and notebooks.
