My students are eager to participate in the after school programs that are offered at our Elementary School. Students want to participate in programs which demonstrate healthy lifestyles and running activities. Most students at our school struggle financially. I want to make sure that my students are able to participate and have the materials needed without students having to worry about it.
My Project
A typical day in my room is full of laughs and learning. We strive hard to build each other up and to be each other's champions. We treat each other like family and share in each other's tries and triumphs. We take learning seriously and make sure to get the most out of each day. My school is a very small, rural school located in western North Carolina. Before the free breakfast and lunch program for all students was available, about 90% of the students qualified for free lunch. Most of the kids come from broken homes and are exposed to things that children have no business being exposed to. Many are also participants in the backpack program. In spite of these struggles, my students show up ready and willing to learn. I would love to give them an enriching experience in the short time I have with them. I believe that education is the key to breaking these cycles. Many of them are only able to use technology while at school.
I want to make a positive, lasting impact on my students and instill the idea that they can be successful in their future careers.
I am asking for three soccer balls and two soccer nets so that they can be able to participate in the soccer games during our after school HomeRun Club.
