Help me give my students the opportunity to continue learning music through remote learning as we cope with the effects of COVID-19 by providing me with a laptop, camera, mic and tripod so I can provide instructional videos as well as interactive music videos.

Many of my students come from military families and their experiences are often brought into the classroom. More than 50% of the students at my school receive free or reduced-priced lunch. It is the varied backgrounds of my students that evokes wonderful classroom discussions and allows my students to learn from their peers' perspectives respectfully.
My students have a passion for music and they often use their vocal and instrumental gifts as a positive outlet to express themselves.
The music classroom is a place where students can discover their creative strengths, explore and share about various cultures, and build community.
My classroom is one that is diverse in learning styles, cultures, and interests. It is my aim to provide a 21st century learning environment for my students through the world of music.
The highlight of this past school year was teaching 150 students how to keep a steady beat while playing a complete drum set.
The whole world has been affected by COVID-19. Of course it has been hard for adults, but have we considered how hard it has been for children around the world? Students everywhere have been forced out of their classrooms and their school environment and have been encouraged to continue learning from home. As an educator, it is my responsibility to ease the process by keeping our students motivated and encouraged.
Music is a universal language that grasps people of all ages and cultures and it is definitely needed during these uncertain times.
When our school transitioned to remote learning on March 16, I began creating and uploading music videos so that our students could continue learning, singing and playing musical instruments. The feedback from these videos have been overwhelming. Parents have shared how these videos put a smile on their children's faces and create a lighter mood throughout their whole house. Most importantly, the students are able to continue with their curriculum while they are at home.
I have thoroughly enjoyed creating these videos, however without the proper equipment, it can be very challenging. With the equipment purchased in this project, I will be able to create and upload high quality videos in a timely manner.
When we return to school, I will continue to keep my Youtube channel active and current. I am committed to helping my students get through these difficult times using the gift of music. Thank you for your help.
