I teach a diverse group of students who love school and learning through technology. My students come from low socio-economic households. Yes, they face hardship and poverty, but they still manage to come to school each day with smiles on their faces ready to learn. They challenge me to grow as an educator and as a person with every experience I gain with them.
Many of my students are refugees from Middle Eastern countries who have experienced hardships that I can't even begin to understand.
It is my goal as an educator to provide them with the proper interventions they need to be successful scholars both in school and in the outside world when they graduate high school.
My students are inspired by the technological world; they value its importance and are very motivated by its uses. In today's society, being tech savvy is an important skill that is required by most careers. My students are on the path to becoming technology masters! Help my students gain access to the valuable tools and experiences that will help shape their academic careers!
My Project
My classroom is considered unique, my students don't sit in chairs or at tables. Rather, the students are giving a wide variety of seating options. Some include: bouncy balls, bean bags, wobbly stools, a couch, and some of my students even like to just sit on the floor with a whiteboard!
The reason my class is set up this way is because I teach a wide variety of students with different and individualized needs.
We treat disabilities as differentiation inside the classroom, why shouldn't we also do that with seating? Not every student works well at a desk. Some students need more movement, others need more workspace, and others just like the ability to stretch out!
While I do already have a wide variety of seating options, my classroom dream is to have absolutely no chairs in my classroom at all! The products in this project will help me to achieve that goal. Help give my students the option of differentiated seating inside our classroom!
