Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My sixth grade science classes are comprised of approximately 130 amazing students, many of whom come from very diverse cultures and backgrounds. I teach a wide range of students from the magnet program, ESE students, as well as advanced and gifted classes.
Our middle school strives to provide excellent education for grades 6-8 and provides a rigorous academic course load that is made possible by the fantastic teachers and staff who work in tandem to create a safe and accessible learning environment for all of our students.
Curious minds want to know; all about science that is! Students at my class have the desire and passion to learn. They are motivated and full of wonder about the world we live in and the problems they will have to solve. They are the out-of-the-box problem solvers and thinkers of tomorrow.
Help me create the most engaging science classroom these students have ever encountered.
From Glow Review parties to edible labs, this is a great opportunity to show them another way that learning can be fun!
My Project
Please help me give my students the necessary materials to create a classroom that is welcoming, nurturing, and exudes relaxation. My special needs students have different needs than the average student. Being able to provide a classroom that feels like home will minimize the anxiety many of my students deal with on a daily basis. Providing string lights will create a much more relaxed classroom.
A classroom should be a place children feel comfortable and relaxed.
We are also in need of some storage containers to organize different stress relieving items we currently have as well as some decor to add to our ever changing classroom. Thank you so very much for your support.
