Together we form a school family that works together to grow and develop through play-based learning and teaching - the way young children learn best.
Although it looks like we’re just playing, my little learners are engaging in structured activities to teach specific skills and knowledge.
Through participation in these positive play-based learning experiences, my children develop their ability to get along with others, learn cognitive and language strategies, and acquire the building blocks for a strong foundation for school success. Such a playful approach to learning builds on my children’s interests and responds to their ideas for play while making happier people who continue to love playing and learning.
My Project
Dramatic play is an integral part of a child’s social, emotional and cognitive development. It involves acting out real-world situations and taking on the roles of different characters. My project, Home Living Role Play, allows kids to use various hands-on resources to act out scenarios they’ve seen or heard in real life while allowing them to explore their own thoughts and feelings. Some of the resources provided by this project include Huggable and Washable Baby Dolls, Indestructible Pots and Pans Playset, Healthy Choices Play Food Set, Birthday Party Cake Set, and a Dish Tea Set. Kids just love dramatic play and having these resources enriches their experience.
Ready, Set, Play!
My students gravitate toward the Home Living Center so while they just seem to be having a little fun, they’re actually engaging in a positive learning experience that encourages children to resolve conflict, consider alternative perspectives and recognize the various roles and responsibilities individuals have in our society.
