My Students

Life is challenging for my students. They come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of my students receiving free breakfast and lunch. They face and experience many challenges by the time they are school aged.

Despite life's challenges, my students walk into the classroom full of life, ready to learn, excited for what is in store for them each day.

My students thrive in an environment where they have a voice and a choice about their learning and their environment.

My Project

Despite facing hardships on a daily basis, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can, so they can be successful one day.

To my students, school is a home way from home, where they feel safe and comfortable to explore all of life's possibilities.

As a teacher, I want my classroom to feel like a home away from home. Having a variety of places for them to share ideas and dreams empowers my students to become lifelong learners. Stools will give my students another place to gather to work, have small group discussions, and dream about their future.

Providing a variety of places for my students to learn empowers them to take charge of where and how they engage in their learning. When students are uncomfortable, they are distracted and unproductive. Flexible seating allows students to find comfortable positions throughout the classroom. Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive.
