This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My middle school provides opportunities for children from all cultures, areas, and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district. Helping to fund my project, you'll become part of a community committed to ensuring that our students make it to and through college.
From our rigorous college curriculum to our extracurricular activities and our community partnerships we are extremely passionate about preparing our students to lead lives of opportunity and choice.
A child that attends our school is four times more likely to graduate from college than their peers, and we hope to see that number continue to rise in the coming years. All of our students receive free meals, over 90% are students of color, and just over 15% are special needs students.
My Project
Through the difficult time of this stay at home order, students need a positive outlet for their emotions and anxiety. With these various art media, my students can have a chance to explore color, shape, and problem-solving through the use of these art tools. Beyond a no.2 pencil and line paper, many of my students have not had many opportunities to pursue their natural artistic abilities through fundamentals and techniques. Developing these techniques allows middle school students to find new ways to express themselves and present their ideas with the artwork they create.
My students will use colored pencils, markers, erasers, and paper to create and design their ideas at home through art.
