Help me give my students a life changing experience touring Eastern Europe and the sites of genocide by the Nazis.
This project expired on January 1, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Students at AHS are hardworking despite their backgrounds. We have extremely high achieving students, but they lack world travel. We are an extremely small rural district, with each graduating class around 40 students each. Most have never traveled outside of the state, let alone country. We lack what many schools consider basic, such as textbooks. Despite all of this, our students go on to major universities and do well! The Holocaust and WWII are major interests of our student body.
Our kids are blessed with an opportunity to travel overseas and experience several life-changing places. They will see first hand the atrocities of the Holocaust and the impact genocide has on future generations.
Students will be able to tour Auschwitz and discover all of the ramifications of genocide in the past and be able to take that information to prevent genocide in the future.
Our trip includes:
Entrance Fees to: Topography of Terror Museum, POLIN Museum of History of Polish Jews, Auschwitz and Birkenau, St. Vitus Cathedral, Golden Lane, Jewish Museum in Prague, Jewish Cemetery in Prague, Spanish Synagogue, Old-New Synagogue.
