I am a 28 year old teacher of a class of 28 bright, lovable and amazing children. I work in a very impoverished area in the South Bronx. I receive very little help and support from my school. I am left on my own to purchase whatever it is that my kids need. I buy as much as I can with my own money, but that only goes so far. What we tend to take for granted, like owning a simple book, is GREATLY appreciated by my kids. I wish I could give my kids everything that they need in order to learn and thrive. One thing that is clearly lacking in my classroom is books about holidays. My children come from various ethnic backgrounds and are not familiar with many holidays. I love educating them on different holidays that they might not be familiar with. They become so interested and engaged when I talk about holidays. I would like to receive the Learn to Read Holiday Series for my class. The kit contains 12 books, each on a different holiday. The books are 16 pages each, so they are simple enough for my kids to grasp and follow. My kids and I would be very grateful to receive these books.
