This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Riddle me this: What's more wiggly than a fourth grader? Practically nothing!
My fourth graders live in a working class and immigrant neighborhood.
Most of them are learning English as a second language, some have special needs, and all of them love to learn. Our Title I school is an important safe haven for my kids, who are surrounded by poverty and gang activity.
My Project
There's nothing harder for a wiggly fourth grader than to sit still during lessons. My wiggly students could use the help of Hokki stools to keep their bodies busy while their minds attend to the task at hand. These stools have a rounded bottom, so your body is allowed to slightly wobble on the stool without tipping over. This balancing act keeps the active body busy and frees up the mind to do the work. We are asking for three Hokki stools to start a collection for the classroom.
With your generous donation, my students will get their wiggle out as they focus on the task at hand.
Whether they are solving math problems, writing metaphors, or working together in groups, these stools will help my students keep their minds engaged while their bodies stay in balance. My students and I thank you.
