Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What do you think of when someone says,"Take a seat?" Well in my classroom, this phrase might mean to take a chair with you to another center. While my school provides a chair for each and every student, it would be fantastic to have additional seating for our learning center.
My 31 first grade students love coming to school!
We are a K-5 elementary school in the inner city. Most live in high-density apartments with limited space and materials that belong to them. However, school is their world where they feel safe and protected. They love to learn, and are curious about the world around them.
My Project
Space and materials are definitely a premium, especially now that budget cuts require increased class sizes. This is why organization and efficiency are key! Whether students are counting with math manipulatives, experimenting with magnets, or using a balancing scale, the stools are perfect for active listening and kinesthetic learning. New stools for our learning center mean that chairs do not have to be shifted around the classroom. The stools take very little storage space when not in use. These stools will provide a sense of stability and soundness, allowing each student to feel like he/she belongs!
Your donation will provide my students reserved, VIP seats at the learning center.
Donor stars like you are so important to classrooms like ours. While some receive parental donations, that is not the case with most high poverty neighborhoods. Thank you!
