My students need 4 Hokki stools to help make our classroom a comfortable environment where my students are excited to learn when they enter our room each day!
Engage, Engage...Engaged! What an amazing year this is going to be! Our classroom is full of energetic, diverse learners! My students come from families of varying backgrounds including different socioeconomic status and cultures. I have taught for 28 years, and it is amazing to see how students of this generation are not only so savvy with technology, but so much more motivated to learn as a result!
My students thrive on lessons that stretch their creativity and innovation, so additional seating options will help to further engage them when they are given a choice in their seat in the classroom.
It is for this reason that I created this project in hopes to motivate my class further with tools that I can not afford alone.
My Project
Our classroom still has traditional desks and chairs where there isn't much movement for the students during the day. I want to provide my students with a more flexible seating option when they feel they need more movement during their work time. These HOKKI stools will contribute to this vision of 21st Century learning.
Flexible seating takes students from sitting at a desk all day and gives them the opportunity to choose a seat that will be most comfortable for their learning style!
Flexible seating will be awesome for my students not only because it will provide them with a choice and more comfort, but it will also provide kinesthetic support to their bodies and minds. While a quick game of "Hokey Pokey" helps to relieve my students' restlessness, these HOKKI stools will help to support my students' learning throughout the day, increasing their engagement and motivation to learn.
