Hello everyone! I am a third grade teacher working for a high poverty school district located in rural mid-Missouri. Our small elementary school provides education to around 300 students. The poverty rate of the population we serve is higher than the national average, with around 65% of our students being eligible for Free & Reduced Lunch.
My classroom usually consists of around 20 bright and shining jewels!
These children each bring with them their own unique personalities and characteristics, helping to make our wacky classroom family complete.
My Project
This project will supplying enough headphones for digital learning centers. The students will use the headphones when completing spelling and math fact practice on iPads. The headphones will enable the students to focus more on their assignments instead of what is going on in other parts of our room. Furthermore, the headphones will also be used when students are working on our online reading and math program. This program enables students to work at their own levels. During this time of the day, it is typical to find my third graders working on standards that range from kindergarten through fourth grade. As a result, this program provides an excellent source of both intervention for struggling students and enrichment for overachieving students.
However, seeing as this program requires the students to be able to listen to instruction; headphones are a necessity!
By donating to our project, you will be providing students with the resources they need to be successful and focused digital learners! Thank you for considering our project!
