The students we serve are in a 100% Title 1 school. We are located in a poverty stricken area and our students struggle with making positive connections with others. Several of our students qualify as homeless and we provide a great deal of support to all of students during the school day.
My students need practice in working together and interacting with others in a positive manner.
They need real practice so they can master and generalize these skills across environments. This will benefit my students not only in the school setting but also in their future work settings.
My Project
These supplies will be extremely beneficial for my students success in the classroom. The materials will allow my students to move their bodies while moving their minds. These items will be helpful in classroom engagement, but also be utilized as incentives.
Another benefit to having these materials would allow myself along with the ParaEducators in the room to provide opportunities to practice Social Skills.
The materials will also allow myself and the ParaEducators to differentiate instruction, to help meet the needs of various learning levels.
My students will benefit greatly from these wonderful materials. They were very excited about this opportunity and wanted to be part of picking the materials listed.
