My students need 10 stability ball chairs. These chairs will help my students to focus especially those with ADHD. Meanwhile, not only are they working out their body but their brain as well. Win, win.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 72 curious 5th graders eager to learn the wonders of the world through science. We have a high number of students with ADHD; therefore keeping them engaged and excited about their learning is a must. Nonetheless, these students come every day ready to absorb all the knowledge they can in science, math, reading, social studies and anything else presented to them. Over 90% of these children receive free breakfast and lunch; many students receive free snacks to take home and others are part of the free fruits and vegetable program. Despite their struggles they are eager to come to school everyday and try their best to ensure they are ready for their future career and college.
My Project
The 10 stability balls will be used daily in our 5th grade classroom. According to research, children with ADHD need to fidget to help them concentrate. These needs will be met with the stability ball chairs while using just a little movement. This will help my students process new information better as well as be able to concentrate on class discussions and all other aspects of the classroom learning. These special chairs will help my students be more focused since their brain will be stimulated by having both sides of the brain engaged while trying to keep their bodies centered on the ball. These stability chairs will especially help the high number of students with ADHD while the rest of the students focus even better as they engage in better posture. The use of these chairs will therefore increase my students’ academic success. Having that mobility within their space will increase my student's productivity and academic success as they are on the road to their future career and college.
