I teach 6th graders at a 6-8 school. This means that the 6th graders coming in are the low man on the totem pole! They look so tiny compared to the 8th graders, and life can be intimidating for them.
Sixth graders are resilient and find a way to navigate their way through the middle school experience.
Life is tough trying to juggle seven classes with seven different teachers. I love to help my students feel secure in their ability to problem-solve. You have a black hole for a backpack! No problem! We have "two minutes a day keeps the backpack monster away" here to save the day!
My Project
I love listening to audio books! When I don't have time to sit and read a book, I can certainly find time while travelling in the car. The reader of our novel is excellent! Students will much prefer to listen to him read the story out loud, and hopefully realize how fun it is to listen to books!
Special seating like this wobble chair helps students who need extra movement to focus.
Students are less likely to distract others if they are able to have movement that comes from sitting! I've heard wonderful things about these seats and can't wait to see the benefit they bring to our classroom.
