Do you remember how you felt waiting for the first game of the season and all the preparation that took place to get ready? My female athletes share that excitement of waiting for and then finally getting to compete on their respective court and/or field. These girls have the desire to become not just better athletes but better people across the board!
Many of our students are using athletics, in addition to their academic achievements, to get offered a scholarship so that they may build a better future for themselves.
More than half of our students at THS are from low-income households. With that being said, many of our student-athletes have jobs in order to help support themselves and alleviate the pressure put on their parents. They know what hard work is, and they are not afraid of it. They thrive in situations others would have a very hard time facing. We really do have great kids that want to better themselves in every way and I am so proud of them! Go Bobcats!
My Project
Donations to this project will make a HUGE difference in our girls' swings and make them more successful as a whole. These hitting aids will be a great thing to introduce into our practices. With this newly added equipment, our practices will also run more efficiently. When most of our girls get to us from middle school, they have never been given any actual instruction on how to make their swing more efficient, or practiced on having faster hands, or how to hit different pitches.
These items requested will allow us to open their eyes to more than just, "hit the ball".
They will allow us to build on what they already know and refine some of their raw talent. Our girls would be so appreciative. They make me proud on a daily basis because of their eagerness to learn and these items will make it much easier to teach them what they need to know to be elite hitters!
