Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are fabulous kiddos but lack organizational skills. The binders in this project will be used as interactive reading notebooks. They will help students keep their notebooks organized by genre so that they can use them to look back over the year to find examples of lessons we have learned.

Organizational skills benefit students in many ways and teach life skills that will be helpful in the future.

The 2 pocket/pronged folders will be used for writing, social studies, book club, and W.I.N. time.

Finally, the composition notebooks will be used for word study. In 5th grade, students learn dictionary skills, idioms, adages, puns, and Greek and Latin roots. These notebooks will be used to create a tool kit to tackle these word study types.
