My students need new books. The two books we use were published in 2005 and 2014. This book is usable by AP students as well as on level students. It provides a meaningful supplementary text.

My Students
The students I teach are driven above and beyond the norm. Many of them take precious care of their education in ways not generally seen in urban schools.
One hundred percent of the students here receive a free lunch.
All of our students have needs unique to being a school in the inner city, and every positive step forward makes irreplaceable impacts on their lives.
The unique environment in and around the school makes it a great melting pot of ideas, personalities, and cultures. All of which come together to provide meaningful insight for each student, and create a sense of individuality and community.
My Project
The final unit in World History deals with the Modern Era, and more specifically the last 100 years. Beyond this, a large chunk of world history is emphasized in the last 10 years. The books we have currently lack a complex understanding of events that happened in the near history of the world, specifically the rise of global terrorism, increased globalization due to technology, and the impact of the internet. All of these are crucial in understanding our immediate history and drawing meaningful inferences which can inform our future.
The resources requested here do a wonderful job identifying and chunking history into meaningful themes that students, regardless of achievement level, can understand.
