My Students

Our students from historically rural Tennessee attend Title I Schools.

These students are bright, loyal, funny, focused, inventive, and talented.

They don't always have access to the same experiences that their counterparts in more populated areas of Tennessee have. Help us bring history to life for them with a remote visit from civil rights icon Ruby Bridges! Not only would this visit be perfectly in line with TN state social studies standard but it would underscore the importance of inclusivity in our schools and public institutions for our 5th graders.

My Project

Bringing Ruby Bridges to MPMS students will underscore the need for inclusivity in schools and public institutions.

Our students will never forget their remote meeting with Ruby Bridges, a civil rights icon!

5th graders will become our future leaders in our middle school, high school and as adults. Ruby Bridges will show them how she has been leading her entire life and inspire them to begin leading in their own classroom, community, online, and in the wider world. This visit will show them they too can make history!
