My students need a variety of historical texts. They are passionate about Who Was? and What Was? book series. These non-fiction texts are great for researching important historical figures as well as important historical events!
My classroom is full of talented and ambitious young minds! Each of my diverse students are diligent and work hard throughout the school day to succeed. I am so proud of all of the growth that I have witnessed in the first half of the school year.
I see so much potential within each and every one of my students.
With this said, I want to make sure ALL of my students are fluent readers by the time they reach middle school.
As their teacher, my goal is to make sure that I can supply them with the materials and the resources to do just that! I want to offer my students a range of diverse and complex texts to build fluency and expand my student's reading levels.
My Project
My students are fascinated with the Who Was? and What Was? book series! They love to get their hands on books with historical information. These non-fictional texts have really been a great resource within my classroom. Not only am I able to reference these texts for information when teaching my social studies lessons, but my students are able to read them during independent reading time, partner reading time, and for research projects.
My students are always wanting to learn more about the history of our country and the important people that helped shape our country today.
