Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help our students foster community and connect through art, social studies, and character education.

Our 4th grade students are eager learners who seek hands-on experiences.

They often work independently because group work can be a struggle. Due to district-mandated curriculum, we cannot address social studies themes and issues unless we creatively combine them with other subjects.

My Project

We are requesting the Townsend Press book Bullying in Schools because we know that 4th grade is often a critical turning point with friendship groups. We believe that combining art, social studies, and character education will give our students powerful support as they begin to enter adolescence.

Our students are more than capable of working as a team, they just need the resources and tools to ease their way.

Supporting this project with have a three-tiered effect on student learning.
