Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are excited to learn and ready to explore more about our world! We learn about a variety of historical time periods in 2nd grade, places in the world, and how our world and humans function! We love our vibrant and engaging CKLA curriculum.

By going to the Discovery Park and gaining trade books to supplement our Listening and Learning strand of CKLA, our class will be able to fully experience what we are learning!

History will be presented in a fresh new way! Our students love to learn hands-on and always look forward to our read aloud of the day. They will love seeing History Come To Life!

My Project

Our class would love to go to the Discovery Park in Union City, TN to explore the Civil War re-enactment provided during that time! The kids will be able to explore in person about what we are learning about in her listening and learning strand. Our 2nd grade team has also compiled a list of trade books that will supplement our Listening and Learning curriculum. Each student will get a copy of the trade books and we will read these books throughout the year along with our read aloud stories. These experiences and books will help our learning in the classroom come to life!
