History (and Smiles) Brought to Life with Printer Ink
My students need ink in our classroom printer to help bring American history to life. With the needed ink cartridges, we can print reports and create original documents.
Seeing printed text only in black and white creates a blah environment. Each class period begins with bell work, it would be amazing it the students could receive the text with colored copies to capture their quickly fading attention span.
I am responsible for 100 diverse students.
My students are 7th graders, typically 12 and 13 years of age, with the majority from lower income families. The majority of the students receive free or reduced lunches. Our school has a wide range of races, including African-Americans, Hispanic, Asian, and Caucasian.
My Project
Having the capability to print in color could help bring history to life and add a little enhancement to the learning. These children are exposed to so much that it's hard to create lessons to motivate their desire to learn. Color copies would capture their imagination. They would be able to print out their original work without fear of the printer running out of ink!
Many of my students don't have the resources at home to print out their assignments using color ink.
Providing ink cartridges for the printer in my room would allow students to use their imaginations to their fullest potential. We could create letters with color pictures to send to the active military, or reports could be enhanced with color photos. The possibilities are endless.
