I teach 6th grade ELA and Social Studies students at the smallest public school in South Carloina, with grades ranging from 5K-12. We are located along the Broad River. My 31 students are always eager to take field trips. But, alas, it is not always possible due to the cost of gas. So, I thought, why not bring the field trips to the students? The core curriculum of our Social Studies class is World History. Our class would be greatly enhanced by videos about Ancient Egypt, Mummies, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. I feel that these videos would greatly benefit their learning and provide visual stimulation. We all know that today's youth are technology-centered. Therefore, I feel that providing them with this resource would pique their interests and hopefully guide them in learning all they can about our world's history. By choosing to fund this proposal, you are allowing me to put the past in the present's hands to guide them in their future.
