This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
As a teacher, my goal is not only teach my students, but to support their learning in any way possible. Supplies are very expensive and often get lost or run out. Being able to supply my students with new dry erase markers and boards, and paper will really benefit them. We use them daily for both reading and math!
My students LOVE to read, and I would LOVE to supply them with new reading buddies.
Students read independently everyday, and I've noticed their love or reading soar when they have someone or something to read to. The stuffed animals listed in this project would go to our classroom library, and would encourage students to practice their oral reading skills.
Other items listed in this project will help with student organization. The shoe rack will help organize water bottles. The paper will allow me to create fun and interactive games with them. The headphones will be supplied to students who need a new pair. (They often break easily and are used daily) Colored pencils will help students illustrate and bring their writing to life! We also use colored pencils to self and peer edit our writing pieces!
