HIGHLIGHT Our Classes and PENCIL in Our Test-Taking Skills
Help me give my students, 6th-8th grade, their own supplies for their test-taking strategies, tackling not only subject tests but their STAAR Tests, as well.
Our school may be a small school, but we are far from small when it comes to drive and motivation to learn. Not only do they impress me every day with their "want" to learn, but their passion as well. Our middle school students go above and beyond in ours classrooms. But, when there aren’t enough pencils to create, or a highlighter that’s not dried out, they can’t practice and perform at 100%. It may be hard to imagine this, but the struggle is real.
The middle school students have learned an abundance of test-taking techniques for their STAAR tested subjects.
We are about to embark on round 2 of these STAAR Tests. In these strategies, highlighters and pencils are needed.
By this time in the year, teachers have run out of these two particular items. We often have to use our own funds to supply these for each student, in each tested subject. Help us out! (This will be for all MS teachers...not just me)
My Project
The MS Students, 6th-8th grade, have learned an abundance of test-taking techniques for their STAAR tested subjects.
These testing techniques use pencils and highlighters in a variety of ways, depending on tested subjects.
These tested subjects are: science, social studies, math, writing, reading, and revising and editing.
We as teachers are in need of these items, for every student, in every class. Our pockets are empty by this time each year and we are scraping together whatever used items we can.
This project will not only end the year on a great note but begin next year, in an even better one.
