This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am suppose to be preparing my students today for a job that is yet to exist. Technology is the only link I have to help them try to keep up. Many schools are submerged with laptops, smartboards and other items to keep their students on the cutting edge. I teach in a low income school though.

Currently, my classroom has one computer (the teacher station) which is hard for the students to work with.

Last year I received an ELMO projector, which is great. Unfortunately, it is hooked up to a fifteen year old computer from a storage room. My students are used to hand me downs, and not having the best. I would love to start off their 2011 year with access to a new computer. They need a place to research, create blogs, and play active games! They deserve this. It is not a luxury, it is a necessity!

My Project

Please allow my students, who have no computers at home, to get in touch with their future jobs! Just because they reside in a low income household, they shouldn't have a low income education. Don't let the world pass by smart kids, who need a break. It is a high tech world. We ARE a low tech classroom.

I'm glad to know, with no money in our district, and state.....others are stepping up.
