Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students that are part of the team are directly involved with our T-STEM Academy and are committed to pursuing education and careers in STEM fields. Each of them are passionate about their education and they deserve the opportunity to showcase their potential. Competing in robotics provides an excellent venue for them to do so.
The team has the best spirit and enough experience for the competition, we just need support.
There is no limit to what they can accomplish.
My Project
My students not only build robots but they also have to maintain them throughout the season. Tools wear out over the course of a season and need to be replaced; particularly, bits that get rounded off from repetitive use. Hacksaws get the job done but they are slow and the precision of cuts suffers which affects the quality of their builds.
Quality tools means faster, more precise processes, giving the students a competitive edge.
With the help of these tools our robotics classes can build robots more efficiently and with greater quality resulting more authentic real-world application of their skills and knowledge.
