My Students
High school students are amazing, creative, and inspired; in order to create new information, they need technology that allows for creating, combining, and presenting multiple forms of media. They use the high school library to use print and digital resources, collaborate on joint projects, work independently and read.
The library is home to all VHS students who tackle college-level time management tasks along with a challenging workload.
In addition, students who are taking online college courses, use the library space for study and research.
My students look to the library as a place of learning that levels the playing field regardless of ability, curriculum, or background. The library is a safe space and a welcoming environment for all. It is not an overstatement to say that the library is the heart of the school!
My Project
The library makerspace, affectionately known as "The Hive!" is in desperate need of filament for our 3D printer. Please help us to obtain PLA filament that will allow students to continue to use our 3D printer.
We use the printer to create unique artifacts that display student learning, collaborative design challenges, and to print off materials that support students who are visually challenged so that they may understand challenging concepts...especially in math!
Three of our schools use this one 3D printer!
Please help our students so that they may continue to design and fabricate projects that represent 21st-century learning and foster the love of creation.
