LS kindergarteners and first grade students are poised at the beginning of their journey—to learn about themselves and classmates as students.
We are a small school serving a diverse population from all over Seattle (and beyond).
Donations help us get primary-specific materials beyond the basics—those more expensive items that enable us to connect deeper with learning or extend projects to tie a thread through multiple subjects.
Thank you for helping students in their formative years; the donations made to our primary school classroom ensure that young learners cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fun and immersive environment. And the value of these experiences is far reaching; Such well-prepared students continually use these skills until they end their journeys as scholars and young adults.
My Project
I am beginning my second year of teaching, and need high-quality materials to enhance our project-based learning. Primary-aged learners look forward to using these materials to add clarity and understanding to stories. The colored pencils and markers will aid with their literacy work.
The watercolor and tempera paints, along with the paint brushes, are earmarked for large murals--we are a Native American focus school; visual arts enhance the oral traditions and Native arts we learn more about each year.
The oil pastels and high-quality papers will give young students a chance to see the creative power in professional-grade art materials. When we set high-standards for creativity, we are best served by providing high-quality materials for the higher-level expression.
