My Students

My students are high performance learners who are non-verbal. They need a voice! My students are involved in recycling bottles and cans around the school. They are learning how to sort recycling materials and teaching other students the importance of recycling in school and at home.

They learn best using project-based learning facilitated through technology.

This gives them a sense of independence and they take pride in being able to participate in discussion. The i Pads will enable them to participate in 21st century real world skills.

My Project

Giving my non-verbal students iPads will enable them to have a voice. The iPads will help build independence in communicating with their peers, facilitate project-based learning, build self-advocacy skills and enhance their creativity.

My students often feel different than their typical peers due to the inability to speak and inability to regulate their emotions.

Giving a voice to the voiceless is a gift that keeps on giving.

The iPads will open doors to a whole new way of learning. My students will experience first hand how it feels to be able to ask a peer a question and have that peer respond.
