Help me give my students more high interest/low level vocabulary books that are making them into enthusiastic readers!

I am a Special Education Teacher who sees students grades 5 through 7, and my students all struggle to keep up with grade-level expectations. I have a dynamic mix of students, many of whom need some serious confidence boosting as they have experienced failure at school in the past.
My students all come from Detroit/Detroit Metro and many have had less than stellar educational experiences before coming to our charter school.
This is why many families chose to bring their students to us instead of continuing on at their local public school. I owe it to these families to do everything I can to help their child succeed! The donations we have received have made a huge difference already. I have turned many "I hate books and reading" students into "When do we get time to read again!" students. I'm working every day to keep their motivation going and their confidence building with help from generous donors like you.
This project is full of Hi/Lo books that have proven to be highly engaging to my struggling readers. Hi/Lo books are specifically written to be interesting to older readers while written at a lower reading level. We received several of these books from AKJ Education in a previous project and they have been a huge hit. One student in particular loved a character in his book so much that he is writing a sequel to the story over his Winter Break!
Several of my students have excitedly shown me the pictures of additional titles offered by the publisher in the back of the books and begged me to get more!
They have even researched the books and read the summaries online talking to each other about which books they would love for us to have in the classroom. I have included many of the titles that they were hoping to get into this project and they would be overjoyed to receive them.
I have started allowing/encouraging my students to take books out of the classroom library to read at home and in their General Education classrooms. Most of the books in their General Education classrooms are way too hard for them to read. This causes them embarrassment, frustration, and re-enforces the idea that reading is something that they do not enjoy. Students proudly get books from me to take home or read in their General Education classrooms. They are reading more and more each day and improving their reading skills with each book they read. Will you consider helping this group of students continue on their path to becoming confident, independent readers?
