Marcus Aurelius once said "the secret of victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious." However, the secret to the success of a third and fourth grade classroom is the organization of the obvious!

I am a first year teacher working with twenty-seven 3rd and 4th grade students in a high poverty school. Although we have been working hard on organization and being responsible for ourselves and our things, it has been difficult without the proper equipment to help us along the way. My attempt at creating "shoe box" mailboxes, while a good temporary fix, does not have the endurance to keep up with 9 and 10 year olds!

My students need a sturdy 30 unit mail center to help them organize their folders, homework, and home-school communication. This unit will be kept at the back of our classroom, and will enable students to keep their papers safe from the "paper ball" doom that seems to be the inevitable fate of many papers being stuffed into the caving makeshift cubbies I have created for them.

Your generosity will help me show my students how important organization is for success. Many of them struggle with organization at school and are not receiving help with this life skill at home. My goal is to provide them with an understanding of how material organization leads to a more organized and productive mind.
