Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Pre-K class consists of 15 students that come from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of my students are first-generation Americans and therefore have a variety of first languages other than English.

Our program puts a major focus on building knowledge through make-believe intentional play for our four- and five-year old students.

The students are given exposure to what people do and say in various themed settings. My students engage in daily activities that were designed to support the development of literacy, math, and science skills at the same time as self-regulation skills. Most of our learning takes place in small groups and partner activities which engages children in building social relationships as well as creating a positive classroom environment.

My Project

My students need classroom work organizers so that they can independently store their completed school work that needs to go home at the end of every day. Each of my 15 students will have their own organizer labeled with their name for easy identification.

These classroom work organizers will make our dismissal routine run a lot smoother because all papers that need to go home with a particular student will be in one place.

This will make it easier to pack their folders up and allow more time for writing notes in each student’s behavior log to recognize their hard work and admirable behavior!
