Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are often the ones that get written off, ignored, labeled, and overlooked. On the same token, my students are amazing kids with amazing talents who want nothing more than to be happy, express their passions, and succeed in life!
The fact that the majority of them live in poverty, single parent, or immigrant homes doesn't seem to faze them much.
Though they have little, they consider it much. I want to give my students the absolute best. They deserve nothing less.
My Project
Music is one of the few outlets that allows young children to move, play, think, express themselves, and learn all at the same time.
That being said, instruments like cymbals, tambourines, jingle bells, and maracas play a key role in moving music from being just notes on a page to an experience.
With the new addition of our piano station, headphones will allow a small group of students to practice quietly without disturbing other groups at work, while bean bags and a bouncy kickball will help serve as great resources for hands on music games and activities.
The instruments and resources listed will only enhance the learning experiences of our students and will help make the learning process hands on, interactive, and just plain old fun!
