This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a title one low income school.Many have not had prior experiences to build upon in their education. We are a school of over 500 prek students who receive free breakfast and lunch. This is a free school program for those who qualify. Low income and needs to supplement /enhance their success in school are some of the qualifications .The students are excited to start this project and learn amazing things about bugs and insects and their lifecycles.

My Project

These materials will allow the teacher to introduce students to the life of bugs and insects.The excitement from reading these books such as the Grouchy Ladybug will lend themselves to students wanting to learn more about these incredible creatures and their benefit to our world.

Hands on materials always enhance the learning about the subject.

Students retain the knowledge when they become active participants.The students will be creating a model of ladybugs, butterflies, spiders, dragonflies and ants.They will be making their habitats and their life cycles. Parents will be invited to attend our bug fest event and see what their child has been learning .
