Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is definitely not how it was back when you and I were in school. My students are learning to read, write, and are using technology daily in the classroom for multiple purposes. My students are an amazing diverse group of young learners. They come from many different backgrounds and come to school on many different levels academically.
However, they all come everyday wanting to learn all that they can with the biggest smiles on their faces.
My students have become my inspiration throughout the years.
My Project
The Amazon Echo Spot can be used in a variety of ways to help my students with their learning throughout the day. Students will use it for calendar, writing, math, reading, transitions, and even inside recess.
When the students are writing and they get to a word that is not on our word wall and they are struggling with they will be able to ask Alexa to spell it for them.
During our calendar time, Alexa will give the students the date and the daily forecast. In math, Alexa will be used in a varied of ways. Students will be able to check their answers to addition and subtraction problems when they are in stations or when they get stuck on a problem. Alexa will also be able to roll a dice, pick a card, and flip a coin when needed in stations.
Alexa can also provide educational games for the class to play for those times when we have to stay inside due to the weather. As a class we will use it to help us maximize our learning time.
