Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in the RFES Positive Behavior Support Program are some of the most talented, compassionate, and amazing students I have had the privilege working with. Each student possesses qualities that contribute to the creative environment that we try to create in our classroom each and everyday. Many of my students come from, or are housed in foster care, and have had a rough start in life. Our staff strives to create a safe environment for all of our students.
My Project
Many of my students are struggling readers, and a few of our students have very little interest. This reading corner will be tailored to fit the interests of our students. We are hoping that by providing a fun, comfortable center this would help to motivate some of our students to want to read more! This corner will be an independent reading station for students to pick a book of their interest when there is downtime in the classroom. Our students are special, and possess many gifts and talents. Our staff wants to set our students up to be successful readers.
