I teach life skills to a fantastic group of eight special-needs students. My classroom is completely self-contained, meaning they are with me all day and I teach all of their subjects.
They really love to create and learn.
We are always thinking outside the box as learning should be as hands-on as possible. This year we are applying STEM to our classroom and would like to upgrade our learning to include science, technology, engineering, and math in our curriculum.
We are located outside of the Austin, TX area. Most of my students are non-verbal so they communicate in a whole new exciting way!
My Project
Through your donation, you are helping us to learn by providing us with a safe and organized classroom where we can learn and thrive in what is our safe and secure learning environment. We really want to practice safe hygiene and we will be washing our hands several times a day due to COVID-19 and a LifeSkills goal. We also need a few items to keep our classroom running at top speed to include an extra iPad charger, and some extra binders and dividers to display our goals and objectives. So far, we are starting out our school year by learning virtually, but eventually we will be back to an in-person learning environment and that may be as early as next month. Having sanitation products will ensure that we can keep germs to a minimum and stay healthy!
We want to remain as safe and healthy as possible and by you helping our classroom, it will ensure us the kick-start we need to be the best that we can be!
