Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In the heart of Miami, my school, a K-8 Center, has a large and diverse population of extraordinary children.
My loving second-grade students enjoy being challenged while working collaboratively given differentiated opportunities to show their individual knowledge.
Due to being exposed to diversity in the classroom at a young age, these children easily show empathy towards one another and show compassion with their classmates and teachers. My students are resilient, creative, and independent!
My Project
A disinfectant sprayer and disinfectant cleaner refills will help in sanitizing our classroom before and after each school day to ensure that my students and myself are staying as safe as possible during the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic.
It is imperative that we have a safe and clean environment to ensure that my students and I remain healthy in order to continue coming to school and learning every day.
A small area rug will encourage students to read in a designated Reading area of the class, while the alphabet on the rug can serve as a hands-on way to practice phonics skills. In addition, a laptop storage safe would help store and charge our previously funded DonorsChoose laptops. It would be amazing to have a secure place to store our class laptops safely. This storage safe will also assist in keeping laptops organized and numbered to keep track of which device is being used and sanitize as needed.
