My students need a mimioteach interactive whiteboard to take them beyond classic textbooks. Being able to use 21st century technology will make them more successful, interactive and engaged.
I teach 40-42 kids in the Dual Language program in First Grade. These students are all amazing and range from learning a new language to being bilingual, as 6 year olds!!!! I watch them gain new language every day (whether it's their dominant or second language), which makes my job even more rewarding.
Our classroom is a place where every students has a voice, and every students knows their worth.
I want the most positive learning experience for these students.
Helping them reach those goals by utilizing resources all around is so important. With the amount of new technology around, acquiring providing my students with as much exposure to their languages is crucial.
My Project
The whiteboard in our classroom is used on a daily basis. With the advances in technology, having an Mimioteach interactive whiteboard would make such an impact on my students engagement and interaction.
Because of the decrease in the use of textbooks, a mimioteach will allow my students to show their, ideas, and thought processes, not only with me, but with the class.
It allows the classroom to be more students led vs. teacher led.
Using the Minioteach interactive whiteboard not only allows me to significantly reduce the amount of paper for worksheets, but the students will have the opportunity to utilize a math and reading program to its utmost technological extent. Students will have the ability to use the Mimioteach to solve math problems on the board, instead of me having to do it through my computer, which makes it more engaging for the students. It allows the students to get excited about solving problems.
I have seen how technology can enhance the learning experience for students therefore allowing my students to have this opportunity will help them grow in so many other ways!
