Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are motivated and eager to explore concepts of digital art media. Something they have never experienced before. My hope is to get them the same benefits of being in art class and having fun with the creative process of art that includes digital. Most of my students do not have a lot of things that includes technology. So coming to school for them is their safe place. They look forward to coming to school. Especially if it is their elective class they are going too. I want to be able to be that teacher for them to enjoy coming to school and feel safe.
My Project
Influencing digital print art in the classroom brings a new and current style to art for middle school students.
With the inclusion of students having laptops, I would like to have a laser printer and ink in my classroom so we can be able to incorporate real world business examples, like brochures, posters, business cards, and/or book covers.
It helps students to expand their creativity and exploring a new medium of artistic creativity.
With limitations we have towards our budget due to being a Title 1 school, that include Covid restrictions on sharing supplies, I want to increase meaningful learning into real world examples used in digital art.
Lesson plans will be distributed by creating templates from Microsoft or any digital app platform, researching different types of print media, and be able to print and display what they create from those templates. The final showcase will be of their creations along with their research that display their exploration into digital/print media.
