I teach at a Title I school in Tennessee. We are a small town in middle Tennessee. My class is a diverse group of children with a wide range of abilities. My school is made up of over 95% of students who receive free or reduced-price lunches. About 32% of my students are English language learners!
My sweet kinder babies are enthusiastic, creative, and always rise to the occasion in order to meet my expectations.
My kids come to school eager to learn, and curious about the world around them; and like little sponges, they soak in all the information they can.
My students deserve the best education I can provide for them, and that includes the best environment, the best resources, and the best experiences that I am able to provide for them. I am proud and very blessed to teach each of them.
My Project
Currently, my classroom is made up of a hodge-podge of various chairs. They are old and unstable, as some no longer have the pads on the bottom of the legs, which makes them uneven and they move as students are trying to work.
It is so important for kindergartners to have a stable chair to sit in for their own safety.
Although it is not their fault, kinders can sometimes be very wiggly, and having unstable chairs causes falls every now and then.
I am asking for these 8 chairs that will allow ample stability and safety for my students and encouragement to sit safely in new chairs.
