Mrs. Gross from Janesville WI is requesting Books through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Here a Book. There a Book. Everywhere a Book Book.

Help me give my students a way to find a spark for reading. By giving students books they might gravitate towards, it shows them there is knowledge and enjoyment to gain from opening a book.

My Students

Students show a lot of determination to find a way to solve problems. The problems could be in math, reading, lunch, art, or life. As an educator, I strive to give my students the skills and materials needed to solve the problems they encounter. I have a very dynamic group of students. They have a love for learning and a willingness to attempt new pursuits.

Through, with the help of all the amazing donors, students are able to have experiences where they learn new skills or master old ones.

When students are done with a specified task, they want to find new ways to express their learning. As a project is funded it shows students that people are invested in their success. Using the materials requested allows students to find another way to show their learning/mastery with items that might not have been available otherwise.

My Project

How can anyone go wrong with reading about accomplishments and interesting facts from around the world? The 5,000 Awesome Facts by National Geographic, Guinness World Records 2018 and 2019, and the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! books are perfect for my students. My students are fascinated by reading snippets about the lives of people.

The Trapped in a Video Game series, the Smile series, and the Emily Windsnap: Six Swishy Tails of Land, and Sea books will draw in my reluctant readers with a fun story line.

As students branch out with their reading choices, I believe they will be encouraged to try other books. Reading can open up a world of knowledge and imagination for students.
