My Students

My students are an awesome group of 6 and 7 year olds. They are learning how to become readers, writers and mathematicians. Their favorite times of the day are writers workshop and stations. They love to show their creativity and have independent learning time.

My students develop amazing stories and books.

They love the process of thinking of an idea, writing the words, illustrating and publishing. They are proud of the books they create! I love seeing their pride when they share their books with the class and school.

My Project

My students aspire to be author's. This easel will allow me to model creative writing through guided and shared writing. My students will learn writing conventions and share their ideas on class writing projects.

My students will use the easel to create interactive writing masterpieces.

Interactive writing is the process where the students take the pen and create written pieces as a class. I use this process to involve them in using correct written conventions.

In addition to using the easel for writing they will use it for reading and math stations. The magnetic board will allow them to build words in their spelling station. They will use the felt side to retell stories that we have read in class. In math they can use the whiteboard to represent numbers and practice math facts.
